Film ini bersetting tahun 1953 di Korea Selatan dimana Heo Sam Gwan (Ha Jung Woo) pemuda rajin yang bekerja sebagai buruh bangunan dan membantu pamannya bekerja di ladang. Ada anggapan jika para pemuda di desanya tidak dapat menikah jika belum mendonorkan darahnya/ menjual darahnya. Dengan menjual darahnya membuktikan jika mereka dalam keadaan yang sehat dan dapat mencari banyak uang. Pada suatu hari Heo Sam Gwan melihat dan langsung jatuh cinta pada Heo Ok Ran (Ha ji Won) wanita paling cantik di desanya, namun Ok Ran telah mempunyai pacar bernama Ha So Yong yang terkenal kaya dan playboy.
